My background is in web development, delivering large scale custom websites or web applications with database driven dynamic content.

I’ve built websites and web applications for publishing, manufacturing, travel and other sectors.

In 2009 I made the leap to work freelance teaming up with graphic designers, small agencies or working directly for businesses and organisations.

Technologies

My career thus far has gone down two tracks. During 10 years of professional employment, I’ve predominantly used Microsoft technologies, classic asp migrating to asp.net and Microsoft SQL Server databases and Transact SQL. My freelance efforts during the same period have been predominantly based on PHP and MySQL.

I have worked with several content management systems and created lots of bespoke ones for websites, but now often work with Expression Engine, Wordpress or Perch, depending on the size and requirements for the project.
